What kind of primary and secondary schools do you want for Melton/Caroline Springs area?

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) are planning to deliver multiple new schools in the next few years and they want to hear what’s most important to you, so they can plan and build the best schools for your neighbourhood.

In addition to a survey they will be hosting a workshop.

The Victorian Government recently announced $236.8 million to buy land for 14 new schools across Melbourne’s fastest growing areas. This includes the following new school sites to meet future needs in your area:

  • Grasslands Primary School
  • Proposed Primary School for Rockbank
  • Eynesbury Station Proposed P6 School
  • Cobblebank Secondary School

With Victoria’s population growing so rapidly, our schools will have to cater for 90,000 more students over the next five years.

The Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) wants to hear what you consider most important to be included in the school designs. They also want to hear what’s most important to the Melton/Caroline Springs community so that they can plan and build the best schools to cater for the current and future needs of local students and their families.

From 28 March – 30 April, the VSBA are inviting the Melton/Caroline Springs community to contribute ideas for the design of their new schools via an online survey on EngageVic.

We will also be hosting a community engagement workshop on Thursday 26 April from 6.30 – 8pm at Rockbank Hall, 24 Old Leakes Road, Rockbank.

Feedback from the survey and community engagement workshop will help shape the schools’ design.

New schools offer opportunities to build and enhance their wider communities. The VSBA are working with local educators and councils to match school designs with local needs, but they also want to hear from you. Your input and feedback will help shape the future of education in your area and ensure the new school best caters for local students and their families.

The Community Workshop and survey are your opportunities to contribute your ideas to: help VSBA to understand what you see as the priorities for schools, inform the design and shape the vision for new schools in your local area.

How can you get involved?

You can contribute ideas by completing an online survey or attending a community engagement workshop on Thursday 26 April from 6.30 – 8pm at Rockbank Hall, 24 Old Leakes Road, Rockbank.
