Melton lifelong learning festival is a celebration of all that is lifelong, life-deep and life-wide learning in the city of Melton.

The festival will take place across three days, from the 5th to the 7th of October.

The festival is set to offer free inclusive community activities and events that engage a diverse group of participants, across all age groups, abilities and interests.

The festival will offer at least 130 different activities to community members and participants free of charge. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and learn new things about various cultural groups representing.

The following are few of the events that will be on display at the festival:

  • Family sport activities

This activity caters to people of all ages and takes place at the Djerriwarrh community hall, it’s a fun and an active day organized in collaboration with Djerriwarrh and Reclink.

  • Mandarin for Kids

Give your child the gift of language and culture. Bring them along to this short, yet fun mandarin language class.

  • Friendly tech help for seniors

Lively connects older people with friendly and young helpers who can help you learn all about using your computer, smart phones, tablets to connect with family and friends, pursue your interest and access information. Bring along your device and your questions for some friendly help and afternoon tea.

  • Water safety day

Learn the basics of water safety with qualified instructors. This activity is particularly eye catching to me as we are few months away from summer and many families will be visiting pools and beaches, therefore, have some knowledge about water safety just before summer, is particularly important to the community.

All activities in this festival are set to give participants opportunities to learning new things, advance their existing knowledge and inform them about available learning opportunities.

To sign up, please visit the festival website https://meltonlearning.com.au/festival/

I can’t wait for the day to come and I am so excited about the endless opportunities for learning during this festival and meeting other amazing people in our community.
