Celebrating Volunteers

National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of our nation’s volunteers.

This year’s celebration theme is “Making a world of difference” and acknowledges the generous contributions of Australia’s 6 million volunteers, and the incredible impact they make in our local communities, society and the world.

In the City of Melton we already have  a some very dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who tirelessly give of their time to help make Melton a great place to live. They are “Making a world of difference” in Melton.

One of the volunteer opportunities “Making a world of difference” is our L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program. This is a program that assists young drivers, aged 16-20 years, who are without appropriate family support to achieve their necessary 120 hours of supervised driving experience. If you have a full Victorian Driver’s Licence, relate well to young people and can commit to 1-2 hours per week then you may want consider becoming a volunteer supervising driver mentor. You will be provided with a fully fuelled car to use.
