Yoga for Seniors

An event every week that begins at 12:30 am on Saturday, repeating until December 19, 2020

Delivered by our experienced and passionate yoga instructor Alicia, our Yoga for Seniors classes provide an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension while strengthening and promoting flexibility in the body. Classes start with a gentle warm up, followed by a series of guided poses, postures and breathing practices and end with a short period of relaxation to quieten the mind and rejuvenate the body.

The benefits of yoga for those in their senior years are much the same as those for the general population: increased muscle tone, balance (which is particularly important), strength, lung capacity, posture, sleep quality, mood and more.

All poses can be modified to make them as easy or as challenging as is suitable for your unique body and individual requirements and encourages full participation of everyone.

Throughout the year, Alicia runs yoga classes for seniors at Caroline Springs Library & Learning Hub and Stevenson House.
