This is an 8-week program starting Wednesday 12 February, running every Wednesday from 5:00pm.
Adolescence is a critical yet often challenging period in life. Through the power of art making and engagement with art materials, art therapy empowers participants to express their emotions via an alternative outlet. Unlike art classes, art therapy is more about the process, rather than the outcome, and you do not need to be good at art to benefit.
Art therapy can help adolescents with:
- Exploring self-image and identity
- Experimenting through creative risk taking
- Externalising inner feelings or struggles
- Strengthening self-esteem
- Expressing oneself
This small group program is facilitated by a qualified Art Therapist, offering a range of materials and art making themes each week. The Art Therapist aims to hold a safe and non-judgmental space for the group to engage in self-exploration, creative expression and personal reflection.
Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Suitable for children aged 11–16 years.
Please note, tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday 16 January 2025.
