Details

This is a 10-week program beginning 3 February running every Thursday from 2.30pm.

CommuKnitty Crafters from your living room to our community centres.

Council is looking for crafters who are over 50’s to come to Bridge Road Children & Community Centre to either knit or crochet items for projects in need. The initiative has been running for some time and has produced hundreds of items like teddies and blankets for organisations like the Peter Mac Foundation.

The CommuKnitty Crafters initiative was previously delivered by volunteers in their homes. The hub is  designed to shift the project from homes into our centre in the hope to re-connect with others. All are welcome to join the program, no matter if you were involved previously or not.

If you’ve got spare material at home and knitting needles that have gathered dust or have been hard at work, we’d love to host you for a cup of tea and a natter as we craft for a cause.

Projects will vary depending on the need. This term we’ll be knitting blankets for Peter Mac Cancer Centre. Please bring your own materials & equipment.
