Details

Each year Council organises a series of community profile events to facilitate a better understanding of different community groups residing in the City of Melton. The purpose of the project is to identify and profile new and emerging communities and gain knowledge about different cultures directly from the representatives of those cultures.

Council’s Curious About Culture program creates an opportunity for local service providers, community members and council staff to learn how to engage with culturally diverse communities more effectively. Through such initiatives, we hope to help individuals learn from each other and engage in meaningful exchanges of information about each other’s cultures.

The upcoming event will focus on the Congolese community providing an opportunity for participants to learn more about this growing community and their practices, traditions, and aspirations for stronger connections.

The presenters from Congolese community will share key information about their culture, customs, etiquettes, and ways to engage with the community. The event is followed by a light lunch.
