Details

This is an 10-week program beginning 2 February running every Wednesday from 10am.

There’s a reason why walking is one of the most popular forms of activity in Australia. Walking for an average of 30 minutes or more a day can lower the risk of stroke by 35%, Type 2 diabetes by 40% as well as heart disease.

It’s not just your heart and muscles that benefit from walking. Regular physical activity has been proven to:

  • Manage weight, blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Reduce your risk of some cancers
  • Maintain bone density, reducing risk of osteoporosis and fractures
  • Improve balance and coordination, reducing your risk of falls and other injuries
  • Reduced risk of social isolation and mental illness
  • Improved fitness and energy levels

So put your runners on and join the Fraser Rise Community Walking Group for a leisurely and picturesque stroll around Stony Hill Creek to start reaping these amazing health benefits!
