This is a 6-week program starting 4 August running every Wednesday from 4:30pm.

If you’re after a fun activity for your child to do after school, this ‘Healthy & Delicious’ cooking class might be the perfect activity for them. Children will learn how to make and enjoy fresh, healthy foods, get to know the ingredients and provide a fun and relaxed avenue for them to discover the joys of cooking and make healthier food choices.

While the focus of the class is to explore healthier food options and consume more vegetables, children will develop a range of basic kitchen and cooking skills as well as learning how to stay safe in the kitchen. One of the greatest benefits of letting kids cook is the sense of achievement and self-sufficiency that they experience. Children also develop a range of other skills such as decision making and group work whilst improving their maths when measuring ingredients and calculating cooking times.

Our experienced tutor, Kellie, will give lots of demonstrations before everyone gets to work using healthy ingredients to produce their dishes.

In this 6-week program kids will learn to make:

  • Toasted muesli & yoghurt parfaits with fruit kebabs
  • Oriental chicken with parsley noodles
  • Orange & poppy seed patty cakes
  • Zucchini burgers with sweet potato wedges
  • Fried rice
  • Potato gnocchi with roasted vegetable Napoli sauce

The recipes may include dairy, nuts, gluten, wheat and egg.  Please contact us about participating in this class if your child has food allergies, intolerances or special dietary requirements to ensure we can plan meals with these needs in mind.

This program only offers a small number of places each term to ensure a beneficial hands-on learning experience for all children, ensure you book your child’s place fast to avoid disappointment.

All ingredients and recipes supplied. Suitable for children aged 8-12 years. Children will need to bring an apron to each session.
