Details

STEM, the study of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, is fast becoming one of the most sought after areas of expertise among employers. Learning in this area not only boosts your employability, it’s also a great way to connect with your child as they too are increasingly being exposed to this type of learning at school.

Join Shalaka, the Owner and Director of STEM Birds, for an afternoon of coding and robotics! Shalaka will share her experience when it comes to the 101’s of coding, before giving you the chance to design and build your own beginners game.

This workshop is a celebration of women in tech, providing a supportive space for skill development, collaboration, and empowerment. Seize this opportunity to code, create, and be inspired by Shalaka’s expertise and leadership!

A laptop is required to participate in this workshop. Please bring your own laptop as these are not supplied.

This workshop is free to attend for women aged over 16 years who have a connection to the City of Melton. It is being offered by the Multicultural Association of Community Empowerment (MACE) as part of their Women in Business and Entrepreneurship (WIBE) Project and is proudly supported by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing ‘Investing in Women Grassroots Grants Program’.

Notice of road works affecting travel to Taylors Hill Youth & Community Centre.

Melton City Council is duplicating Hume Drive between Gourlay Road and Calder Park Drive by increasing the existing two lanes to four lanes with a new road median. Works have now commenced and are expected to conclude early in 2025.

Works will take place Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm and Saturday between 7am and 3:30pm. During the works, our intention is to keep the road open to traffic but there may be periods of time where there are reduced lanes and delays occur. We encourage road users to allow extra travel time and to use alternative routes if possible.
