This is a 6-week program starting 5 May running every Wednesday from 4pm.

This hands-on and engaging program will help your child to explore a range of fresh food and desserts, get to know the ingredients and is a great way to introduce your child to the joys of cooking and food.

Over the course of the program kids will develop a range of basic kitchen and cooking skills whilst learning about how to stay safe in the kitchen. One of the greatest benefits of letting kids cook is the sense of achievement and self-sufficiency that they experience. Children also develop a range of other skills such as decision making and group work whilst get to improve their maths when measuring ingredients and calculating cooking time.

In this 6-week program kids will learn to make:

• Week 1 Rainbow Marble Cake
• Week 2 Cheesy Pasta Bake
• Week 3 Anzac Biscuits and Decorative Vanilla Biscuits
• Week 4 Chocolate Weet-Bix Slice
• Week 5 Roasted Vegetable Mediterranean Scrolls
• Week 6 Cornish Pasties

Recipes in this program are vegetarian to also encourage kids to east more vegetables. The recipes may include dairy, nuts, gluten, wheat and egg.  Please contact us about participating in this class if your child has food allergies, intolerances or special dietary requirements to ensure we can plan meals with these needs in mind.

This program only offers eight places each term to ensure a beneficial hands-on learning experience for all children, ensure you book your child’s place fast to avoid disappointment.

Suitable for children aged 8-12 years. Children will need to bring an apron to each session.
