!!WIN!! Be in the running to win a robotics kit!

Through a series of coding and robotics mini-challenges children will apply their creativity, logical thinking, problem-solving and coding skills to complete the fun challenges. No prior coding experience is required. Girls and Boy will be using robotics kits such as Codey Rockey and Sphero for Robotics Challenges, and free online resources with programming languages like Scratch to complete the online coding challenges

Delivered online, the mini challenges are designed to complete at home at children own pace with support from the Western BACE STEM Squad. At the end of the Lifelong Learning Festival, girls and boys will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win their own robotic kit.

STEM HEROES: Robotics Challenges (Ages 9-12) – Activity Schedule:

  • Thursday 19 November – Afterschool: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Friday 20 November – Afterschool: FREE PLAY!
  • Saturday 21 November: 11:00am – 12:00pm
  • Sunday 22 November: 11:00am – 12:00pm

Who is this challenge suitable for?

  • Girls and Boys aged 9 – 12 years. No prior coding experience required.
  • At the end of the program, children will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win robotic kit.
  • Limited number of spots in the Robotics Challenges, with equipment to be loaned out from the Western BACE STEM Lending Library.

This program is proudly supported by the City of Melton Libraries Team, if oversubscribed priority will be given to Parents and Kids residing in the City of Melton.

What does this cost?

Nothing – Thanks to the support of Melton City Council the STEM Equipment Lending program is free to families in the City of Melton.

City of Melton Tech Heroes Club created by Western BACE.

The Tech Heroes Club created by Western BACE and powered by the City of Melton Libraries Team is back for the Lifelong Learning Festival. Girls and Boys Aged 5-15 from the City of Melton can join in a range of free self-paced Robotics, Coding, Design and Tech challenges over the course of the Festival. Group and 1-1 online support will be provided by the Western BACE STEM Squad and robotics kits by the Western BACE STEM Lending Library. Additionally, as part of Lifelong Learning Festival, adults will be able to try their hand at adult only “Coding for Beginners” challenge. At the end of the festival, participants will have a chance to submit their work and go in the running to win a robotics kit.
