Play, experiment and have fun with art at these hands-on sessions for pre-schoolers. Offering three different art making experiences per session, this is an opportunity for 2–5 year old children to create and learn in an unstructured environment.
Throughout these interactive sessions children are encouraged to participate in activities that interest them. They can move around the room and try out all of the art making experiences on offer or just enjoy the one activity. The choice is theirs!
Activities are selected for their developmental benefits and include painting, drawing, tearing, cutting, gluing, threading and sensory experiences. The activities on offer change each session.
Sessions offer an opportunity for parents to participate in art making activities with their children. Parents can experiment and see what type of activities their child enjoys, all while picking up ideas and inspiration for activities that can easily be run at home.
These sessions are facilitated by Melissa from Council’s Community Activation and Learning Team who is passionate about creating opportunities for children of all abilities to engage in fun developmental activities.
