Celebrate the 2023 City of Melton Learning Festival by getting up close and personal with butterflies, stick insects and other creepy crawlies in this fun and interactive minibeast encounter.

During your encounter you will have an opportunity to explore the ‘Bugtopia Tent’ where you can learn how to safely handle and feed a selection of minibeasts including stick insects, butterflies, giant litter bugs and yabbies. You can then continue your minibeast discovery by trying to catch aquatic minibeasts and view bugs up close with microscopes.

Facilitated by the team from Labcoat Learning this event focusses on raising awareness on how living things grow and change, their features, adaptations and role in food chains.

Suitable for children of primary school age.

​This is a family friendly event. Children must be supervised by a parent/carer at all times.
