If someone was injured, would you know what to do to ensure their safety and recovery?
Learn how to stay calm and respond in an emergency situation in this non-accredited workshop that aims to teach participants basic practical first aid skills. Learn tips on how to deal with airway management, CPR, choking, poisoning- household products, bites, head injuries and much more. The 60-minute session will cover topics including:
- What should be in your First Aid kit at home
- What is DRS ABCD and why should I follow it?
- First Aid for burns
- First Aid for choking (infants, children and adults)
- First Aid for sprains and fractures.
- How to provide reassurance and comfort to someone who is injured
- Seizures
- What to say when calling for help
- Minor wounds care i.e. cuts, abrasions, blood noses and mouth injuries
- Poisoning- household products & medication
- Basic CPR
This workshop will be delivered online by North-West First Aid. Participants need to register online though the Melton Learning Directory and will be sent a link to join the session once they have successfully registered.
Note that this course is non-accredited so a certificate will not be issued.
