This is a 4-week program beginning on 15 November running very Wednesday from 10am.

In this four-session hand-building pottery program, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques of hand-building, allowing you to shape and mould clay into beautiful and functional objects.

Don’t worry if you’ve never touched clay before – these classes are designed for beginners. Our experienced instructor will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you feel confident and supported throughout the process.

Working with clay has a soothing and therapeutic effect, allowing you to relax and let your creativity soar. As you immerse yourself in this hands-on activity, you may find a sense of mindfulness and tranquillity washing over you.

At the end of the class, you’ll have a collection of handcrafted pottery pieces to take home and proudly display. From bowls and cups to decorative art pieces, each creation will be a reflection of your artistic flair.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Session One: Pinch Pot Technique, Making a Bowl

In our first session, you’ll discover the art of pinch pottery, using your hands to create a beautiful bowl.

Session Two: Slab Building Technique, Making a Platter

In session two, you’ll explore the world of slab building, crafting an elegant platter. Learn to roll out clay slabs and shape them into your vision, adding textures and patterns for a personalized touch.

Session Three: Coil Technique, Making a Mug

In the third session, you’ll master the coil technique to craft larger pieces and such as a stunning vase and mug.

Session Four: Underglaze Decoration and Glazing

In our concluding session, you’ll delve into the art of underglaze decoration, where you’ll have the opportunity to paint and add exquisite finishing touches to your pottery creations. Additionally, you’ll master glazing techniques that not only enhance durability but also bring an elegant and functional dimension to your pieces.
