This is a 3-week program, commencing on 12 January 2022, running on Wednesdays from 6:30pm – 8pm

Give your body, mind and spirit a great start to the new year.

Over January, you’ll have the chance to try our Hatha inspired yoga class that is designed to align and calm your body, mind and spirit through exercise, breathing and meditation. Suitable for men & women of any age and ability, this series of three classes are a great introduction to the new year before Alicia’s regular yoga classes begin for term one.

Delivered by an experienced and passionate yoga instructor, Alicia’s classes provide an opportunity to stretch, unwind, and release tension while strengthening and promoting flexibility in the body. Classes start with a gentle warm up, followed by a series of guided poses, postures and breathing practices and end with a short period of meditation to quieten the mind and rejuvenate the body.

Poses in this class will include standing and seated postures, balancing and lateral and forward bending, all benefiting different areas of the body. All poses can be modified to make them as easy or as challenging as is suitable for your unique body and individual requirements.

You will also practice breathing exercises and learn how to link postures with breath. A process that can help you to become more aware, and perhaps be more in control, of your breath.

Yoga is a well-respected practice than can provide many health benefits, including improved flexibility, posture, strength, sleep quality, concentration, focus, cardiovascular health and reduction in stress and anxiety.

Please bring along a yoga mat to each session.

Throughout the year, Alicia delivers yoga classes at Hillside Community Centre, Parkwood Green Community Centre, Stevenson House and Fraser Rise Children’s and Community Centre.
