This program, delivered by Shoto Karate Australia, is designed to empower you by teaching basic karate techniques, and providing a safe space to move your body in a fun and interesting way. Through a variety of engaging martial-arts activities, participants will be able to enhance their confidence and mental strength through improved awareness and assertiveness. The course is suitable for all skill levels and requires no prior experience. You’ll be sure to work up a sweat so please bring a water bottle and towel.
This workshop is suitable for women, girls and gender diverse people aged 15 years and over. Those under the age of 18 years old must be actively supervised by a parent/guardian. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move your body freely as well as closed-toe shoes.
This workshop is a special program being held during this year’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence campaign and has been specially crafted to inspire women’s empowerment and well-being in a supportive and inclusive environment.
