We’re celebrating Wear It Purple Day!

Wear it Purple Day is an annual LGBTIQA+ awareness day especially for young people, based in Australia. Supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the LGBTIQA+ community.

The theme of this year’s celebration is ‘Start the Conversation. Keep It Going!’ It focusses on the important conversations we have around sexual orientation and gender identity, and that it should not only be discussed today, but every day.

“Our rainbow youth exist in the world every day, and therefore require our support each and every day.” – Wear it Purple

City of Melton Young Communities is proud to co-facilitate ‘The Space’, a LGBTIQA+ youth social support group with Djerriwarrh Health Services. The group has put together conversation tips from their personal experiences, to support you for when you might have a rainbow conversation.
