Session 1: Workplace Relationship & Resilience Skills
The beauty of working in modern workplaces is the opportunity to work with a diverse team from varied personal and professional backgrounds. However, often this can sometimes lead to conflicts and strained relationships within a team for a variety of different reasons.
In this interactive online workshop, you will learn important skills to remain resilient through these challenges and to improve working relationships with your team mates. At the end of this session you should be able to understand:
- Why conflicts arise in workplaces
- Conditions leading to conflict
- Effects of conflicts
- Elements and stages in the conflict process
- Ways to deal with conflict situations including response styles and conflict resolution behaviour
- Strategies for managing conflicts
Whether you are established in your career or looking to enter a new industry, these important skills can help you to maintain a happy work life with your team mates.
This session is part of a 2-part series. The next session is ‘Transferrable Skills for Career Change’ on Friday 13 November. Attendance at both sessions is not compulsory but is recommended. Booking in to this session will also provide you access to the next one.
Session 2: Transferrable Skills for Career Change
In the current economic climate, safeguarding your employability is as important as ever. Developing transferrable skills is critical when you suddenly lose your job, but also to those looking for an industry change.
This interactive workshop focuses on finding your strengths and how to apply them to different employment settings. You may even discover skill sets you didn’t even know you had! At the end of this session you should be able to understand:
- What is a transferable skill?
- What skills that can be transferred from one job to another.

- What transferable skills do employers want?
- A Visual Bulls Eye Diagram to show expansion of transferable skills for industries
These sessions are delivered by Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services through their Jobs Vic/west@work recruitment specialist to support participants with all of their employment and career pathway enquiries.
This course will be delivered online. Interested participants will need to register via this website. Upon registration you will be sent a link to join the sessions.
