Students in primary schools around the Melton area are invited to join the ‘Vinnies Reading Club’ program which focuses on the four pillars of literacy – reading, writing, speaking and listening. This program assists students with literacy and numeracy, as well as general social, emotional and academic support.  The educational program aims to

  • improve the learning skills and attitudes of students,
  • increase confidence when interacting with adult volunteers and peers,
  • encourage collaboration,
  • promote social inclusion,
  • develop a growth mindset,
  • showcase best learning practices all while having fun at each of the different learning stations.

The Melton Central Kids’ Reading Club is delivered by the trained staff and helpful volunteers working with Vinnie’s Education Programs. The program aims to help a range of students from various backgrounds, cultures and with differing learning needs.
